azuuru said: most noticeable aspect of your style - imho - is your lines (ie, you use a really specific line weight that's dynamic throughout final works) and really strong emphatic color use. it's almost like color blocking because rather than blended shade you really on contrasting and vivid colors instead, reminiscent of cell shading on older rpg games (does that make sense)
waughh thank you ; w ;!! i’m really inspired by older games in general and their limited use in palette so the contrast between each color is important to me~ i’m not really good with colors, but i’m just learning on my own, so i’m glad that my use of colors are really pushing through.
thank you again saraaaaauughhh~

C; Thank you!
character design of rhian for maleficium-rpg, a game i’m working on with sai.
we ended up changing rupert into a girl and was given the job to redesign her. i’m not very good at armor, but i did my best. sai will probably refine it more; i just gave it its basic shape.
sketches i did of my characters. just threw them together in one post.
- valyssa (1,2)
- karina, valyssa’s caretaker and guildmaster (3)
- blenzi, valyssa and karina’s “little sister” (4)
- ruri reading a novel on two humans (5)
Some more graphic design looking artwork. Large Chun Li is a print and the three SF girls are put on a postcard and can be bought as pins separately in my shop!

Not much done on my end at this time, I’m afraid, but a little progress is better than none. It’s been mostly eventing. This gif is pretty ugly and there’s a lot of visuals that need tweaking, but we finally have a new character on screen, Matthias!
Another thing we’re working on is battle animations. Originally, they appeared to be more pixelated, but seeing as that wasn’t consistent with the rest of the game, and also that it took more time, we’re going for a handdrawn route. I’m also not a very good pixel artist myself, either, so working with strengths tends to be more efficient. Here’s a sample of the animations we’re working on.
Here’s younger Daryl running, attacking, getting hit, and guarding. It’s pretty much based on Holder animated battlers, just with 8 frames instead of 4 and a size change. I’ll probably update again once I have a new map up or whenever I finish up Daryl’s battler.
Another thing I wanted to touch on are future tutorials. I plan on updating my tutorial for parallax mapping as I’ve found a more efficient method to it, and I have a basic guide for bust drawing in the works as well. But I’m also wondering what else you guys would like to know in terms of making artwork for RPGMaker? I’m also open to other questions regarding RPGMaker, however, if it’s in regards to scripting or any of that sort, I’m probably not the person to ask. But I can probably give you a lead in a good direction at least, haha.
Anyway, that’s the update for now! Hope to get greater progress posted on here. And for anyone else in a rut, keep working at it, even if it’s a little tough. <:
Hey guys, this is a project my friend Sai and I have been working together on and off for about two years. You should follow our devblog and check out all the work Sai has been doing. We’re both artists so the eventing/programming side will be the longest trial for us. Thanks for looking!!
